Tara is an eclectic therapeutic practitioner, with the ability to draw on multiple therapeutic methods in order to best fit the needs of each individual client.
Sessions may include traditional scientific based methodologies of therapeutic practice such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and supportive psychotherapy, as well as the integration of creative and spiritual methods of self exploration.
Sessions may include artwork, archetypal work, oracle and tarot cards, shadow work, grounding and meditative practices to combine a holistic approach to self-healing. Clients may focus on spiritual aspects of the self to introduce calm and peaceful ways of moving through life. This includes relationships with self, others, work, and family.
Tara’s goal as a therapist is to keep the work client-centered, meeting you where you are in the therapeutic process. Together, you will work to explore the best path to take in each therapy session, as well as in your life outside of therapy, as that is where most of the hard work happens. She'll work alongside you with a humanistic approach and assist as you learn about yourself in ways that will promote a deeper understanding of the self and relationships to others.
In sessions you will focus on letting go of what no longer serves and work towards accepting the unknowns of the future; we will explore ways to stay present in the here and now.
Tara received a Masters in Counseling and Art Therapy from Seton Hill University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR) trained in Jungian Psychology, EMDR Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, supportive psychotherapy and many mindfulness methods. She is a Master level reiki practitioner.
Tara accepts adult clients in any stage of transition, college/work field adjustments, midlife changes and relationship transitions. She only works with in-person sessions as she believes entering a therapeutic space is part of the self-exploration process.
She works with children 10 and older alongside close family members as she feels a child's environment and those closest to them are an integral part in addressing a healthy mindset for the child and family members.
